SHE Media Welcomes Connie Britton to #BlogHer19 Creators Summit in NYC This September

Emmy Award-Nominated Actress and Advocate To Be Featured on Day One at the Premier Event for Influencers and Entrepreneurs

NEW YORK, NY – August 12, 2019 – SHE Media (formerly SheKnows Media), a mission-driven digital media company created by and for women with nearly 60 million unique visitors per month (comScore) and 350 million-plus social media followers, today announced that four-time Emmy® award-nominated actress, producer and advocate Connie Britton will join the keynote lineup for #BlogHer19 Creators Summit, the largest community of influencers driving economic empowerment and social good through quality content. Britton will take the main stage on Day One for an inspiring conversation on social impact and will introduce the #BlogHer signature award series, Voices of the Year (#VOTY), which celebrates the writers, activists, filmmakers and change-makers who use their voice to make the world a better place.

"I’m thrilled to help kick off such a powerful meeting of minds, hearts and spirits at the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit and to connect with so many impactful and transformative voices for the culture and the world,” said Britton.

Throughout her career, Connie Britton has dedicated her time to humanitarian efforts both in the United States and internationally. For the past five years, she has also worked with the United Nations as a Goodwill Ambassador, working to erase poverty and empower women around the globe.

A four-time Emmy® award-nominated actress, Britton most recently starred in and executive produced Bravo’s limited series, Dirty John, which earned her a second Golden Globe nomination. She has starred in Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1. and in the Golden Globe® nominated, SMILF. She is best known for her Emmy® award-nominated roles, starring in Friday Night Lights and Nashville, which also earned her a Golden Globe® nomination. She received another Emmy® Award nomination for her role in the first installment of American Horror Story. Additional television credits include: American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, Spin City, 24, and The West Wing. She will next be seen in Jay Roach’s “Untitled Charles Randolph Project” about the late Fox News founder, Roger Ailes, which features an ensemble cast including Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie & John Lithgow.

“By portraying strong women on screen, like the iconic Tami Taylor of “Friday Night Lights,” and advocating for equality by sharing her great hair secret (spoiler alert: it’s feminism), we love that Connie isn’t afraid to take a stand and advocate on behalf of all women,” said Samantha Skey, CEO, SHE Media. “We’ve partnered with Connie before on important issues, such as sexism and gender bias, and are thrilled that she is lending her voice to our Creators Summit, as we believe that pop culture and mainstream media has an effect and accountability to its societal impact.”

Now in its 15th year, the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit will be held Wednesday and Thursday, September 18-19, 2019 at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Brooklyn, New York.
